Campaign

A Campaign Rooted in Central West Virginia

This campaign is built on a simple belief: government should serve the people who live here.

Kevin Westley Carpenter is running as a Democrat because Central West Virginia deserves leadership that listens, shows up, and fights for working families—not special interests or political insiders. Braxton and Gilmer Counties are more than dots on a map. They are home to hard-working people, small businesses, families, and communities that deserve honest representation.

For too long, decisions affecting our communities have been made without us at the table. This campaign exists to change that.

Why I’m Running

I didn’t enter politics for power—I entered it for people.

As an attorney, I’ve seen how broken systems hurt everyday West Virginians: working families, seniors, small business owners, and young people trying to stay in the state they love.

I’m running to:

  • Protect local communities

  • Stand up for working families

  • Defend fairness and the rule of law

  • Make government work for people again

What I Stand For

Working Families & Local Jobs

West Virginians work hard and deserve an economy that works just as hard for them. Kevin supports policies that encourage local job growth, protect workers, and keep families rooted in their communities instead of forcing them to leave for opportunity.

A strong local economy starts with investing in people—not corporations that take profits elsewhere.

Justice, Fairness & Accountability

As an attorney, Kevin believes the law should protect everyone equally—not just the powerful. Transparency and accountability must be non-negotiable.Accountability and transparency are essential to rebuilding trust in government.

No one should feel ignored or powerless when facing government institutions.

Healthcare & Community Well-Being

Access to affordable healthcare is a necessity, not a privilege—especially in rural communities. Kevin supports strengthening healthcare access and protecting vulnerable populations, including seniors and families with limited resources.

Healthy communities are strong communities.

Infrastructure & Local Investment

Safe roads, reliable utilities, and strong public services are essential to daily life and economic growth. Kevin believes Central West Virginia deserves infrastructure investment that reflects its importance—not neglect.

Local investment means safer communities, better opportunities, and long-term growth.

A Grassroots, People-Powered Campaign

This campaign isn’t funded by special interests. It’s powered by neighbors, volunteers, and everyday West Virginians who believe leadership should be earned—not bought.

Kevin believes real change happens when people come together, engage in honest conversation, and work toward shared goals.

There’s a role for everyone:

  • Volunteer your time

  • Help spread the message

  • Attend or host local events

  • Support the campaign financially

Every voice matters. Every action counts.
